FSAP Membership Requirements

Primary and affiliate members must be members of the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP), FSAP’s parent organization.

Provisional members are members of a local unit of FSAP who are preparing to take the NAP regular membership exam. Local units are affiliated with the state association. They provide education and study opportunities for members and can help provisional members study for the NAP regular membership exam.

State Dues

Annual dues for all member classes is $25.
Student and military members may qualify for a fifty percent reduction in dues.

How to become a member of NAP

(from the NAP Website)

Membership in the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) requires a basic knowledge of parliamentary procedure, which allows our new members to hit the ground running as they work to increase their understanding. This is demonstrated by passing a 44-question exam based on Robert’s Rules of Order In Brief, 3rd Edition. Pass the exam with a minimum score of 75% and you can begin accessing all the resources and learning opportunities available to NAP members.

NAP offers a free Membership Exam Study Guide as a resource to help aspiring members prepare for the exam.

At the NAP website (link below) there are multiple options for taking the exam.
